Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

If you're a homeowner or business owner in Caerphilly, Cardiff, or the surrounding areas, you may be wondering if you need a licence to remove chrysotile asbestos from your property. At Helix Environmental Ltd, trading as Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff, we're here to provide you with the information you need to ensure a safe and compliant asbestos removal process.

Chrysotile asbestos, also known as white asbestos, is a type of asbestos that was commonly used in building materials, such as insulation, roofing, and flooring, until the 1990s. It's still present in many older buildings, including homes and industrial units, and can be found in areas such as the Park Road area of Caerphilly.

In the UK, the removal of chrysotile asbestos is regulated by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. According to these regulations, anyone who wants to remove chrysotile asbestos must have a licence from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), unless the removal is being carried out by a licensed asbestos removal contractor.

There are two types of licences that are relevant to asbestos removal: a standard licence and a full licence. A standard licence is required for the removal of chrysotile asbestos from a domestic property, while a full licence is required for the removal of chrysotile asbestos from an industrial or commercial property.
