Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

Asbestos Artex removal is a delicate process that requires specialized expertise and equipment. At Helix Environmental Ltd, trading as Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff, we have over 10 years of experience in safely removing asbestos-containing materials, including Artex ceilings, from homes and buildings in Caerphilly and surrounding areas.

Asbestos Artex is a type of textured ceiling coating that was widely used in the UK from the 1950s to the 1980s. It typically consists of a mixture of asbestos fibers, cement, and water, which was applied to ceilings to create a decorative, textured finish. The asbestos fibers were added to the mixture to provide strength and durability.

Asbestos Artex contains fibrous asbestos, which can be released into the air when disturbed or damaged. When inhaled, these fibers can cause serious health problems, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. Therefore, it is essential to hire a licensed asbestos removal company to safely remove asbestos-containing materials, including Artex ceilings.

Our team of experienced asbestos removal specialists will follow a strict protocol to ensure safe and efficient removal of asbestos Artex ceilings. The process typically involves:

1. Preparation: We will seal off the area to prevent asbestos fibers from spreading to other parts of the building.
2. Removal: We will use specialized equipment to carefully remove the Artex ceiling, taking care not to disturb the asbestos fibers.
3. Containment: We will contain the removed material in sealed bags or containers to prevent asbestos fibers from escaping into the air.
4. Disposal: We will dispose of the asbestos waste at a licensed facility, in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

When working with asbestos Artex, it is essential to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a mask, gloves, and coveralls. Our team will also use specialized equipment, such as a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner, to minimize the risk of asbestos fibers becoming airborne.

Asbestos Artex can be found on both walls and ceilings. When removing asbestos Artex from walls, we will use a combination of hand tools and specialized equipment to carefully scrape off the material. When removing asbestos Artex from ceilings, we will use a scaffolding system to access the ceiling safely.

If you suspect that you have asbestos Artex in your home or building, please do not attempt to remove it yourself. Instead, contact a licensed asbestos removal company, such as Helix Environmental Ltd, to ensure safe and efficient removal.
