Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

In the UK, asbestos removal is a highly regulated industry, and to qualify as an asbestos remover in Caerphilly, one must meet specific standards and obtain the necessary licenses. At Helix Environmental Ltd, trading as Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff, we understand the importance of proper training and certification in this field.

To work with asbestos, individuals must obtain a licence from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The licence is typically valid for 12 months and requires renewal. To qualify for a licence, applicants must demonstrate competence in asbestos removal and meet the requirements outlined in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

The standard training for asbestos removal in the UK is the BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) P402 or P405 qualification. This training covers the safe removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials. The course typically includes both theoretical and practical components.

The cost of asbestos removal training can vary depending on the provider and the location. On average, the cost of a BOHS P402 or P405 course can range from £800 to £1,200. Some training providers may also offer package deals that include the course, equipment, and certification.

In addition to the training costs, asbestos removers may also need to invest in personal protective equipment (PPE) and scaffolding training. Scaffolding training is essential for asbestos removal work that involves working at heights. The cost of scaffolding training can range from £200 to £500.

Industrial asbestos removal requires specialized training and equipment. The cost of industrial asbestos removal training can be higher than standard asbestos removal training, ranging from £1,500 to £2,500.
