Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

Asbestos is a hazardous material that was commonly used in construction materials, including Artex ceilings, in homes and buildings across Caerphilly and the UK. If you're planning to remove Artex with asbestos in Caerphilly, it's essential to take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and compliant removal process.

Artex ceilings were popular in the 1960s to 1980s, and many of these ceilings contain asbestos. Asbestos was added to the Artex mixture to provide fire resistance and insulation. However, when asbestos is disturbed, it releases fibers into the air, which can cause serious health problems, including lung cancer and mesothelioma.

Removing Artex with asbestos requires specialized training and equipment. At Helix Environmental Ltd, our team of experts has over 10 years of experience in asbestos removal and remediation. We operate within a 20-mile radius of Caerphilly, including Cardiff, Newport, and Bridgend.

Before removing Artex with asbestos, we conduct a thorough risk assessment to identify the type and extent of asbestos present. We then develop a removal plan that includes:

1. Containment: We seal off the area to prevent asbestos fibers from spreading to other parts of the property.
2. Protection: We wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, and suits, to prevent exposure to asbestos fibers.
3. Removal: We use specialized tools and equipment to carefully remove the Artex ceiling, taking care not to disturb the asbestos fibers.
4. Disposal: We dispose of the asbestos waste in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005.

Cement-based Artex ceilings are more challenging to remove than those with a paper-based backing. Our team uses specialized equipment and techniques to safely remove the cement-based Artex, minimizing the risk of asbestos fiber release.

After removing the Artex ceiling, we conduct a thorough clean-up and remediation of the area to ensure that all asbestos fibers have been removed. We then dispose of the asbestos waste at a licensed facility.
