Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

Asbestos mastic, also known as asbestos adhesive or asbestos cement, was widely used in the past to bond asbestos-containing materials, such as tiles and textured coatings, to concrete floors and walls. However, with the discovery of the health risks associated with asbestos, its removal has become a priority. In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to remove asbestos mastic from concrete in Caerphilly, including the hidden costs, safety precautions, and disposal procedures.

Removing asbestos mastic from concrete can be a complex and costly process. The cost of removal can vary depending on the size of the area, the type of asbestos mastic, and the location. In Caerphilly, the cost of asbestos mastic removal can range from £50 to £200 per square metre, depending on the complexity of the job.
Moreover, asbestos mastic removal poses significant health risks if not done properly. Asbestos fibres can become airborne during the removal process, posing a risk to the person removing the mastic and others in the surrounding area. It is essential to hire a licensed asbestos removal company to ensure a safe and compliant removal process.

Removing asbestos mastic from concrete involves several steps:

1. Preparation: Before starting the removal process, the area must be prepared by covering the floor and walls with plastic sheets to prevent asbestos fibres from spreading.
2. Scraping: The asbestos mastic is scraped off the concrete floor using a specialized scraper or a hammer and chisel.
3. Cleaning: The area is then cleaned with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter to remove any remaining asbestos fibres.
4. Disposal: The removed asbestos mastic is disposed of in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
