Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

Asbestos sheet flooring, commonly found in older buildings, poses a significant health risk due to the release of hazardous fibres. If you're planning to remove asbestos sheet flooring in Caerphilly, it's essential to follow the correct procedures to ensure a safe and compliant process.

Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals that were widely used in building materials due to their durability and fire-resistant properties. However, when asbestos fibres are disturbed, they can become airborne, causing serious health issues, including lung cancer and mesothelioma.

Before starting the removal process, it's crucial to conduct an asbestos survey to identify the type and extent of asbestos present. This will help determine the best course of action for safe removal.

1. Schedule the removal for a date when the building is unoccupied, and the area is well-ventilated.
2. Start by sealing off the area to prevent fibre release and contamination.
3. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator, gloves, and a disposable coverall.

1. Dampen the asbestos sheet flooring to reduce fibre release.
2. Carefully pry up the flooring, taking care not to break or damage the material.
3. Place the removed asbestos in sealed, labelled bags or containers.
4. Ensure all waste is disposed of in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Asbestos waste must be disposed of at a licensed facility. In Caerphilly, you can contact the local council or a licensed asbestos disposal company to arrange for safe and compliant disposal.
