Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

In Caerphilly, Cardiff, and surrounding areas, the removal of asbestos-containing Artex ceilings has been a topic of concern for many homeowners and property managers. Prior to 2012, the removal of asbestos Artex was considered a licensed activity, requiring specialized contractors and equipment. However, with the introduction of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the rules surrounding asbestos removal have changed.

The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) has categorized asbestos work into two main categories: licensed and non-licensed. Licensed asbestos work refers to activities that involve the removal of high-risk asbestos materials, such as asbestos insulation or asbestos lagging. Non-licensed asbestos work, on the other hand, includes activities that involve the removal of lower-risk asbestos materials, such as asbestos Artex ceilings.

The removal of asbestos Artex is now considered a non-licensed activity, as long as the work is carried out in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. This means that homeowners and property managers in Caerphilly can remove asbestos Artex ceilings without the need for a license, as long as they follow the necessary guidelines and take the required precautions.

While the removal of asbestos Artex is no longer a licensed activity, it is still important to exercise caution when working with asbestos-containing materials. Asbestos can be hazardous to health, and improper removal can lead to the release of asbestos fibers into the air. If you are planning to remove asbestos Artex from your property in Caerphilly, it is essential to:

• Wear protective clothing and equipment, including a mask, gloves, and eye protection
• Contain the work area to prevent the spread of asbestos fibers
• Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to clean up any debris
• Dispose of asbestos waste in accordance with the regulations
