Affordable Asbestos Removal Cardiff

Asbestos was a common material used in the construction of buildings in Caerphilly, Cardiff, and surrounding areas, particularly in the mid-20th century. One of the most popular uses of asbestos was in the production of Artex, a textured coating used to decorate ceilings and walls.
Artex, also known as acoustic ceiling coating, was widely used in homes and buildings in the UK from the 1950s to the 1980s. It was a popular choice due to its fire-resistant properties, durability, and ability to reduce echo and improve sound insulation. However, Artex contained asbestos, which was later discovered to be a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance.
The removal of asbestos from Artex in Caerphilly and surrounding areas began in the late 1990s, as the risks associated with asbestos became more widely known. In 1999, the UK government banned the use of asbestos in all construction materials, including Artex.
However, many buildings in Caerphilly, including homes and commercial properties, still contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), including Artex. If you suspect that your property contains Artex or other ACMs, it is essential to have a professional asbestos survey conducted to determine the presence and extent of asbestos.
